SUPERSPORT 600 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP VICTORY FOR ANDREA LOCATELLI

GALFER rider Andrea Locatelli (Evan Bros) has become the new WSBK world champion in the Supersport 600 category after a perfect season.

The young Italian rider and his Yamaha YZF R-6 have become world champions thanks to Andrea’s 9th win of the season, which he clinched at the Catalunya Round of the World SBK Championship. The rain made itself felt in the first of the two races, forcing the cancellation of the remaining laps and the postponement of Locatelli’s title win. However, in Sunday’s session, Andrea dominated the race again and had a clear lead over his rivals, thus mathematically winning the title with 4 races still to go. In addition, Locatelli premiered the new GALFER Racing JCW1 brake discs, with excellent features, at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya race track.

Thus, the brake components brand achieved its second consecutive Supersport 600 World Championship title, after Randy Krummenacher won the title in 2019, also with the Evan Bros and Yamaha team.

The next round of the Superbike World Championship will be contested in France from 2 to 4 October 2020.
