LARISSA PAPENMEIER TRIUMPHS IN LOMBARDIA AND BECOMES THE NEW WMX LEADER

German rider Larissa Papenmeier achieved two podiums in the Lombardia MXGP, giving her victory in the Women’s category and putting her in the lead in the overall standings.

GALFER rider Larissa Papenmeier gave an excellent performance in the WMX category of the MXGP World Championship. Larissa and her Yamaha secured the 2nd spot on the podium in the two races contested, giving her victory in the Lombardia GP with a 3-point lead. Another GALFER rider, Kiara Fontanesi, finished in 3rd position with her KTM. Now, with only two races remaining in the Championship, Papenmeier has a 10-point lead over the second-placed rider and a 13-point lead over Kiara Fontanesi.

In the MX2 category, Frenchman Maxime Renaux (SM Action Yamaha) clinched a 3rd spot on the podium in the first race and finished the GP with a 4th final position.  Renaux holds onto his 3rd position in the general classification with 9 rounds of the season left.

In the EMX250 category, Norwegian rider Håkon Fredriksen (SM Action Yamaha) rode a fantastic race, winning in the first round and finishing a final 2nd in the Lombardy GP. Fredriksen is in 8th position in the general classification despite not having been able to  compete in the first round of the season.

As for the MXGP category, three GALFER riders finished within reach of the Top Ten, with Jeremy Van Horebeek (Honda SR) in 10th, Henry Jacobi (SM Action Yamaha) 11th, and Brian Bogers (Marchetti KTM) 12th. All the riders use GALFER fixed grooved Disc Wave® brake discs and Racing G1396R-compound brake pads.

The next two MXGP rounds will be also be contested at the Mantova circuit on 30 September and 4 October.
