THOMAS LITSCHER’S PODIUM TO CONCLUDE THE UCI MTB WORLD CUP 2023

Swiss rider from the Lapierre-Mavic team finished in 5th place in the XCO Elite race of the Mont-Sainte-Anne World Cup (Canada).

A successful end to the season for Galfer Bike representatives in the UCI MTB World Cup 2023, with a podium and several Top Ten finishes.

In the Cross-Country discipline, Thomas Litscher (Lapierre-Mavic) stood out in the Elite men’s category with a hard-fought fifth-place podium finish. It’s worth noting that in the Elite categories, the top five finishers make it to the podium. This is Thomas’s first podium in the 2023 season and the second for the French team.

In the Downhill discipline, Austrian rider Andreas Kolb (Atherton Racing) secured a solid 8th place finish, allowing him to conclude the season in a commendable 5th place in the overall Elite men’s ranking. On the other hand, his teammate Dom Platt also achieved an impressive 5th place in the Junior category, just ahead of Spanish rider Daniel Castellanos, who finished 6th overall. The Atherton Racing team also finished as the 5th best team in the 2023 DH World Cup.

Thus, the sporting balance of the 2023 season is very positive, with a World Champion and runner-up (Charlie Hatton and Andreas Kolb in DH), two World Cup victories (Rachel Atherton and Andreas Kolb in DH), and several podiums (Sebastian Fini and Thomas Litscher in XC, and Andreas Kolb and Rachel Atherton in DH).

Each rider chooses the brake product that best suits their needs, depending on the discipline and weather conditions. For example, in DH, all Galfer Bike representatives opt for “Disc Shark®” paired with Pro G1554T brake pads (dry conditions) or Advanced G1851 (wet conditions). However, in XC, they prefer the lightweight or classic “Disc Wave®” discs along with Performance G1053 brake pads (dry conditions) or Advanced G1851 (wet conditions).

This concludes the sports season of the UCI MTB World Cup 2023.
