VICTORY FOR TONI BOU AND EMMA BRISTOW AT PALAU SANT JORDI

Toni Bou (Montesa-Honda) and Emma Bristow (Sherco) started the 2023 season in the same way they ended 2022, with victory in the men’s and women’s categories in the FIM X-Trial World Championship, this time at X-Trial Barcelona.

The opening of the new Indoor World Trial Championship season couldn’t have gone better for the Galfer riders.

In the men’s category, Toni Bou (32-time World Champion) made an error in the first round but managed to recover ground in the second, qualifying for the final in first position. True to style, Bou closed the event with his sixteenth win in Barcelona. His teammate, Gabriel Marcelli accompanied him on the podium, taking the second spot, and equalling his best result to date. In third place was another Galfer rider, Jaime Busto (Gas Gas), who rode the best race in the first round but several errors cost him in the final against the Montesa-Honda drivers. The Sherco riders, Jeroni Fajardo and Benoit Bincaz, finished 5th and 6th, respectively.

Toni Bou’s first win of the year puts him at the head of the standings with 21 points. Behind him is his teammate Gabriel Marcelli with 15 points, and then Jaime Busto with 13. All three are Galfer riders.

In the women’s category, British rider Emma Bristow stole a clear victory over her rivals, claiming another win at Palau Sant Jordi in Barcelona. Berta Abellán (Scorpa) took a fall that prevented her from competing with Emma, and finished in third position.

All the Galfer riders use the Fixed Disc Wave® brake discs (W at the front and WLLG at the rear) and G1805 semi-metallic brake pads on their trial bikes.

The next X-Trial World Championship event takes place in Wiener Neustadt (Austria) on 11 March 2023.
