Gabriel Rodrigo finished 5th in the Moto3 category, and Bo Bendsneyder finished 9th in Moto2 in the first race of the speed race season in Qatar.
GALFER riders had a modest start to the season in the 2021 MotoGP World Championship, and were unable to demonstrate their full potential.
In the Moto3 category, the race was heavily affected by strong winds, causing several GALFER riders – Dennis Foggia, Xavi Artigas (Leopard Racing), Jeremy Alcoba (Gresini) and Riccardo Rossi (Boe Owlride) – to end up out of the race due to some early riding errors.
Spanish-born Argentine rider Gabriel Rodrigo (Gresini) rode a good race, constantly fighting for a podium position, although in the end he had to settle for 5th place at just under 1 second behind the winner. Both riders in the Prustel GP team managed to score points, with Jason Dupasquier finishing 10th and Ryusei Yamanaka 14th.
In the Moto2 category, on Saturday Dutch rider Bo Bendsneyder (SAG Racing) achieved a strong third position classification for the grid. However, he was overtaken by several rivals at the race itself and finished 9th overall. His teammate the Swiss rider Thomas Lüthi had a modest debut and finished in 15th position.
All GALFER riders are using the new versions of the Racing JCW1 brake discs, brake hoses and brake pads in different compounds.
The next event in the MotoGP World Championship will be held next weekend at the same race track in Qatar.
