TONI BOU CONQUERS HIS 36th WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP

The Galfer rider remains unbeatable in the world of Trial, adding his 18th X-Trial title in Andorra, and the 36th of his career, creating an unparalleled record.

The fifth round of the X-Trial World Championship, held today in Andorra, saw Toni Bou crowned once again as the king of the discipline. The Galfer rider took advantage of his lead in the overall standings to secure another crown, with two rounds remaining in the championship. This is his eighteenth indoor trial title and the thirty-sixth of his illustrious career.

Toni Bou: “It has been a very special day. Winning the title here is incredible for us. We struggled a lot, we didn’t feel good and had a crash in Zone 1 on the first lap, then started the second lap badly, but we managed to qualify. After that, in the final, in the last section, we were at our best. Being able to win in the last zone, win the race, and the title is a dream come true for me. I want to thank the whole team for the great work they’ve done this year.”

Bou arrived at the Andorran round with four consecutive victories from the four rounds held this season, and with today’s result, he did not miss the chance to clinch a new title, with two rounds left to go — Estonia and Pamplona. Since joining the Repsol Honda team in 2007, the Spanish rider has consecutively won all the world titles, both in outdoor and indoor trial, completing 18 uninterrupted seasons in which he has claimed both world championships.

Toni Bou trusts his braking to Galfer’s “Disc Wave®” fixed W front and WLLG rear brake discs, both paired with either semi-metallic Trial Top G1805 or sintered G1395 brake pads, depending on the conditions.

Toni Bou’s next appointments will be on October 26 in Estonia and November 16 in Pamplona, the last two rounds of the 2024 calendar.
