British rider Tom Booth-Amos, from PTR Triumph Factory Racing, had a spectacular start to the 2025 FIM Supersport World Championship, securing a victory and a second-place finish in the first two races held at Phillip Island (Australia). He achieved this feat while riding his Triumph equipped with innovative Galfer Floatech® brake discs and Racing G1310 sintered brake pads, reaffirming the performance of these components in top-level competition.
A VICTORY FOR THE HISTORY BOOKS
Booth-Amos made history by becoming the first British rider to win a World Supersport race on a Triumph motorcycle, within a British team, and with Galfer brakes. Starting from the second row, he executed a flawless start and, after an intense battle with Stefano Manzi and Can Öncü, took the lead in the 18-lap race. Manzi applied pressure until the very end, but the 28-year-old Briton maintained control and crossed the finish line in first place, securing his maiden World Supersport victory.
In the first race, Booth-Amos also fought at the front and finished in second place, earning key championship points that place him at the top of the standings, tied with Manzi at 45 points.
STRONG DEBUT FOR OLI BAYLISS AND STANDOUT PERFORMANCE FROM CAN ÖNCÜ
His teammate, Oli Bayliss, also made a strong impression in his debut with PTR Triumph Factory Racing, securing two solid Top 10 finishes by placing seventh in both races.
Meanwhile, Can Öncü (Yamaha Evan Bros) demonstrated great pace on his new Yamaha R-9, equipped with Galfer Floatech® discs and Racing G1310 pads. He finished fifth in the first race and was fighting for a podium in the second until a last-lap crash took him out of the points.

VICTORY FOR PTR TRIUMPH AND GALFER
With these results, PTR Triumph Factory Racing now leads the team standings, while Triumph is positioned as the number one manufacturer after the opening round of the championship.
TOM BOOTH-AMOS:
“I’m over the moon after securing a first and a second place this weekend. I didn’t expect to be leading the championship so soon. I can’t thank the guys at PTR Triumph Factory Racing enough, and I hope we can keep this momentum going to fight for the title.”
The Galfer riders will be back in action for Round 2 of the FIM Supersport World Championship in Portimão, Portugal, from March 28 to 30.
