The Spanish Motocross Grand Prix was held this weekend in Arroyomolinos, Madrid, with a significant Galfer presence during the whole weekend, both on the track and in the paddock.
The MXGP of Spain took place this weekend, together with the WMX and EMX250 events, giving Galfer riders the chance to showcase their biking skills. Alberto Forato, the SM Action KTM rider, finished the weekend in a solid 7th position in the premier class, while Alessandro Lupino from MRT Racing Team BETA, after several weeks with health problems, demonstrated his talent without being intimidated by his rivals, to finish in 9th position. Both riders use Galfer DF606RWS oversize fixed grooved discs, together with Racing G1396R sintered pads that provide improved braking performance compared to their rivals.
There is no doubt, however, that the girls of the Lastlap Team were the true stars of the weekend. They earned the support of the audience, with “a warmth that helped them soar high”, according to the team. Daniela Guillén secured a spot on the podium, finishing in 3rd position overall, and despite a poor 15th place start in the second race, she managed to climb up to 4th position. Having finally conquered the home podium, she consolidates her 2nd position in the overall standings at the mid-point of the competition, and still has a good chance to win the title at the end of the season. Meanwhile, despite her persistent injury, her teammate Gabriela Seisdedos achieved her best result of the season so far. She was not so lucky in the second race, however, as she suffered a crash and finished the Grand Prix in 14th place. Charli Cannon, who rides for the Yamaha JK Racing team, also deserves a mention for her excellent performance, just shy of the podium in 4th place.
In the EMX250 class, Team VRT KTM Factory Juniors achieved a double top ten, with a great weekend for Marc-Antoine Rossi, who finished in 4th place. His team-mate Ferruccio Zanchi came in just behind him in 6th position at the Spanish Grand Prix in Arroyomolinos.
Members of the public had the opportunity to enjoy watching the riders on the track, and also to experience the fantastic atmosphere in the paddock, where Galfer had its own stand. A range of activities were organised, such as autograph signing sessions with the brand’s most popular riders and merchandise giveaways throughout the whole weekend.
The next round of the MXGP will be held from 20 to 21 of May at the French GP, a renovated circuit that will be new for all the riders.
