The Honda 114 Motorsport Team rider made it to the second step of the podium in the MX2 class at the start of the MXGP season in Orlyonok (Russia).
The Motocross World Championship opened with the Russian GP, where GALFER riders delivered an outstanding performance.
In the MX2 class, the young Spanish rider Rubén Fernández had two excellent rounds, earning a position on the podium in both races, and that gave him 2nd place overall in the GP. This GP was Rubén’s debut with his new Honda 114 Motorsport team and he showed how quickly he has adapted to his Honda CRF 250R equipped with RWS Disc Wave® (ø270mm) and GALFER Sinter Racing G1396R brake pads.
Meanwhile, the German rider Simon Längenfelder (DIGA Procross GASGAS) finished 9th and the Slovenian Jan Pancar (KTM Racestore) 10th.
In the MXGP premier class, the Italian rider Alessandro Lupino (MRT Racing Team KTM) produced an excellent performance with two solid results (5th and 4th), which meant he finished the Grand Prix in 4th place overall. The Belgian rider Jeremy Van Horebeek (Beta) also made it into the top ten with a 9th place finish.
The next round of the MXGp World Championship will be held at Matterley Basin (UK) on 27 June.
