It was an exciting season finale for the two Evan Bros team riders who were fighting for the title in the last race of the WSBK season. Randy Krummenacher and Federico Caricasulo arrived to Qatar with options to the title and just 8 points apart. On Friday’s timed race Caricasulo got to the pole position and Randy left just behind him. In the race, Caricasulo and Krummenacher rode with caution and stayed behind the leading group, led by three drivers. Caricasulo didn’t make score the points he needed to pass Krummenacher and they finished the race in fourth and fifth positions, respectively. Thus Randy Krummenacher was proclaimed Supersport world champion 2019 after being the most regular rider of the season. Federico Caricasulo was runner-up by just 6 points. The two drivers of the Evan Bros team have won seven races out of 13.
In the Superbike category, Eugene Laverty made a grand finale (Team GoEleven) with his Ducati Panigale V4 R equipped with GALFER Racing brake discs. In the three races of Qatar Eugene entered three Top Ten, with two ninth places and a sixth position in the last race of the year. This has been a great finale for Eugene Laverty, who will be signing autographs at the GALFER stand at EICMA on Saturday 9/11 at 12:30 p.m. (Hall 22 S-41).
