PODIUM SPOT FOR JEREMY ALCOBA IN THE SPANISH GP MOTO3 RACE

The Spanish rider of the Gresini Racing team took an excellent 3rd position in the Moto3 race in Jerez, clawing back several positions after serving his double long lap penalty.

Moto3 rider Jeremy Alcoba (Gresini Racing) notched up a great performance and claimed his first podium of the season in the Spanish GP. He started from second position on the grid thanks to a good practice session, although he knew he would have to serve a double long lap penalty during the race. He was able to complete the two long laps at the most opportune times and kept up with the pace of the lead group. On the last lap he managed to move up several positions and, following an incident at the front of the field, he was able to finish in third. Two other GALFER riders, Jason Dupasquier (Prüstel GP) and Xavi Artigas (Leopard Racing), also made the top ten, and crossed the line in seventh and ninth respectively.

In the Moto2 category, it wasn’t the best of performances for the SAG team riders. Dutch rider Bo Bendsneyder scored 1 point by finishing 15th, while his teammate, Swiss rider Thomas Lüthi, finished 19th.

The next round of the MotoGP World Championship will take place at Le Mans (France) from 14 to 16 May.
