The Spanish rider from the MT Helmets – MSI team has clinched his first podium of the season at the second round of the Moto3 World Championship, using Galfer Floatech® brake discs and Racing G1310 sintered brake pads.
It’s the second round of the 2024 season and the second podium for Galfer riders in the MotoGP World Championship. Following Sergio García’s podium at the Moto2 season opener in Qatar, his Moto3 teammate Iván Ortolá has secured third place after an impressive race, highly contested as usual in this category. With a dry track, albeit somewhat dusty due to the haze, three Galfer riders fought in the lead group, achieving valuable Top 10 finishes with Iván Ortolá (MT Helmets – MSI) in 3rd, Joel Kelso (Boé Motorsport) in 5th, and David Muñoz (Boé Motorsport) in 9th. With these results, Ortolá sits third overall in the standings, 22 points behind the leader, while Joel Kelso is sixth.
In the Moto2 category, the two Galfer riders from the MT Helmets – MSI team have once again shined and achieved great results, even contending for another podium. Japanese rider Ai Ogura secured a commendable 5th place, just 1 second off the podium, while his teammate, Spanish rider Sergio García, finished 6th. Both riders used Galfer Floatech® prototype discs along with Racing G1310 sintered brake pads on their Boscoscuro machines. With these results, Sergio García sits fourth in the overall standings, just 5 points behind the leader, while Ai Ogura is sixth, trailing by 7 points.
The next round of the MotoGP calendar will take place at the Circuit of The Americas, in the United States, from April 12th to 14th.
