The Dutch rider from the Stop & Go team achieved the first podium of his career in the Moto2 World Championship, while Jaume Masià and Xavi Artigas were also in the top three in the GP of the Americas.
Galfer MotoGP riders had a great weekend at the circuit in Austin (Texas, USA), achieving three podiums across the Moto2 and Moto3 categories.
Bo Bendsneyder was outstanding in the Moto2 class, showing his full potential throughout the weekend. The Dutch rider’s times were close to the top ten in free practice and in qualifying he managed to make the second row of the starting grid with an excellent 4th place. A poor start to the race relegated Bo to 14th place, but from there he managed to move up lap after lap to reach the second group. In a breathtaking last lap, Bendsneyder overtook all of the other riders in the group to finish in third place, his first podium in the MotoGP2 World Championship. Bendsneyder’s Moto2 bike is equipped with Galfer Floatech® brake discs, which undoubtedly helped him achieve this fantastic comeback.
There was another close race In the Moto3 class, with several Galfer riders fighting for victory. In the end, Spanish riders Jaume Masià (Leopard Racing) and Xavi Artigas (PrüstelGP), both using Galfer brake components on their bikes, managed to take the second and third steps of the podium respectively. The fourth place went to Brazilian rider Diogo Moreira (MT Helmets-MSI), who is now provisional co-leader of the Moto3 general standings, tied on 49 points with Daniel Holgado.
Meanwhile, David Muñoz (Boe Motorsports) suffered a crash in the final corner, causing him to fall away from the top positions in the overall standings, a fate that also befell Matteo Bertelle (Snipers) and Tatsuki Suzuki (Leopard Racing).
The next round of the MotoGP World Championship will be held in Jerez (Spain) from 28 to 30 April.
