The weekend was a turning point in the history of motorcycle racing and of Galfer as the Moto3 Grand Prix Qatar proved to be a milestone in its history. To achieve a triple podium win is a rare accomplishment, but the feat attests to the company’s commitment to excellence and innovation in racing.
A record-book podium sweep
In a thrilling and action-packed race, riders using Galfer braking systems made a lasting impression on the track. Ángel Piqueras of Frinsa-MT Helmets-MSi edged the victory by a narrow 9 thousandths of a second and firmly planted himself amongst the top contenders of the championship. But the magic didn’t stop there: Taiyo Furusato and Ryusei Yamanaka completed the podium, finishing second and third respectively in a result that will be etched in racing history forever.
High-tech technology on the track
Underlying this outstanding achievement are Galfer’s Floatech® brake discs and G1310 sintered brake pads. Developed in the first instance for elite-level racing, these parts once again proved themselves highly responsive and endowed with high-performance capability in the harsh conditions of the Qatar track. With the ability to select different disc thickness and diameter in accordance with circuit configuration and climatic conditions, our riders can finely tune braking with millimetric accuracy — a key advantage which directly translates into winning performance.
A legacy of winners
This historic outcome is adding to Galfer’s extensive history legacy, supporting world-class riders to reach the pinnacle of achievement. Alex Crivillé and Emilio Alzamora in 125cc, Jorge Lorenzo, Marc Márquez, Álex Márquez, and more recently Jaume Masià — Galfer has been the winner’s first choice across all categories. And now, with this Moto3 podium sweep, we continue to write our legacy.
We cordially welcome Ángel Piqueras, Taiyo Furusato, and Ryusei Yamanaka’s fantastic performance in Qatar, and appreciate all the individuals who enable Galfer technology to keep making the difference — race after race. Making history, lap by lap!
