MAGNIFICENT DEBUT FOR ANDREA LOCATELLI IN AUSTRALIA

The Italian rider for Evan Bros landed his first win of the Supersport 600 season at Phillip Island on his category debut, doing so from pole position and setting a new track record.

All eyes were on Andrea Locatelli (Evan Bros) at the opening event of the 2020 Supersport World Championship. He dominated from start to finish with his Yamaha YZF R-6, which is fitted with GALFER “Disc Wave®” brake discs.

Andrea Locatelli set the best time in classification on Saturday and also set a new track record for the Supersport 600 category.

In the race on Sunday, Andrea Locatelli quickly distanced himself from his rivals and was alone out front until the end, crossing the line first with a lead of more than five seconds over another GALFER rider, Raffaele De Rosa (MV Agusta). The 2019 season champion – Randy Krummenacher (MV Agusta) – had a worse time of things, suffering a fall on the first lap that forced him to abandon the race.

Andrea Locatelli now tops the rider’s table, followed by Raffaele De Rosa, both riders use GALFER brakes.

The next race in the Supersport World Championship will take place in Qatar from 13 to 15 March.
