Andrea Bonacorsi has won the European Motocross Championship in the 125cc category, the first title in the return to competition of Fantic, the legendary motorbike brand.
Belgium has hosted three consecutive MXGP grands prix because of the reorganisation of the 2020 season caused by Covid-19 and was the scene of some great results by GALFER riders.
The Italian rider Andrea Bonacorsi (Fantic) won the EMX125 European Championship in the first year of Fantic’s return to the elite competition. Bonacorsi has shown his consistency throughout the season, triumphing in an impressive 7 race victories on his Fantic XX 125 2T fitted with GALFER brake products: Disc Wave® discs (FRW on the front and RW on the back) and G1396 sintered brake pads.
In the MX2 category, the French rider Maxime Renaux (SM Action Yamaha) returned to the podium in Lommel and consolidated his third position in the championship’s general classification.
Meanwhile, in the premiere MXGP category, there were triple top-ten finishes for two GALFER riders in Belgium: the Italian Brian Bogers (Marchetti KTM) achieved two 6th-place spots and one 7th place and the Belgian Jeremy Van Horebeek (Honda SR) earned 7th, 9th and 10th-place finishes.
The next three Motocross World Championship races will be held from 1st to 8th November in Pietramurata (Italy), where the MXGP 2020 season will end.
