Victory for Jaime Busto (Gas Gas) ahead of Toni Bou (Montesa-Honda) at the second round of the X-Trial World Championship in Wiener Neustadt (Austria).
At the second round of the World Indoor Trial Championship, Jaime Busto fiercely demonstrated his intentions to become the next world champion against Toni Bou, 32 times world champion, with a historic victory for the rising star.
Jaime Busto finished two points ahead of his main rival, Toni Bou, to achieve his first indoor victory with the GAS GAS Factory Team. Busto resisted pressure from Bou in the final round, proving his strength and confidence in every area. This places Jaime Busto second in the contest for the 2023 X-Trial championship title: the 20 points won here, added to the 13 points he scored at the previous round in Barcelona, leave him 5 points shy of Toni Bou.
After taking 2nd place in Austria, the Repsol Honda Trial Team rider continues to defend his first place in the overall standings against all his rivals, remaining at the top of the championship table with 38 points. Bou ran into trouble in the second and fourth sectors, after leading in the first and second rounds, but he still managed to score enough points. Toni is now focusing on the next race to increase his point difference.
Fourth place went to Gabriel Marcelli (Montesa-Honda), while Aniol Gelabert (Beta) came fifth, Benoit Bincaz (Sherco) sixth and Matteo Grattarola (Vertigo) eighth, all of whom are Galfer riders.
All these riders use Galfer products with fixed “Disc Wave®” W front brakes and WLLG at the rear, together with Trial Top G1805 brake pads.
The next X-Trial race will take place in Pamplona (Spain) on 25 March.
