GP OF CATALUÑA: MARCOS RAMIREZ WINS MOTO3 CLASS

The GP of Cataluña was held throughout a hot and intense weekend in front of more than 90,000 spectators. The Moto3 race was marked by the accidents that led 12 riders to retire. But Marcos Ramirez (Leopard Racing) stood out from the rest. The Andalusian rider managed to bide his time and after a dramatic last lap he was first to cross the finish line, winning his first Moto3 race at the World Cup. Marcos uses GALFER braking products (brakes and discs) in his Moto3 Honda HRC. The other GALFER representatives entering the Top Ten were Alonso Lopez (Estrella Galicia 0,0), who almost reached the podium, Japanese Ayumu Sasaki (Petronas-Sprinta), who was 8th, and the Czech rider Jakub Kornfeil (Prustel GP), who was 10th.

In Moto2 two GALFER riders entered the Top Ten. The British rider Sam Lowes (Gresini Racing) was 9th, and Japanese rider Tetsuta Nagashima (SAG Racing) was 10th. Australian rider Remy Gardner (SAG Racing) crashed at the start of the race while fighting for the leading places.

The MotoGP race had also some incidents and retirements but the Spanish rider Tito Rabat (Reale-Avintia) entered again in the Top Ten after a 9th place. Italian rider Pecco Bagnaia crashed and wasn’t able to finish the race.

The next round of MotoGP will be held in Assen (Netherlands) on June, 28-30, 2019.
