GALFER DOUBLE IN ITALY MARRED BY THE DEATH OF JASON DUPASQUIER

Victory for Dennis Foggia (Leopard Racing) and a place on the podium for Gabriel Rodrigo (Gresini Racing) in the Moto3 race at the Italian GP, although their results were marred by the sad news of the death of Jason Dupasquier.

The Mugello circuit, in Italy, hosted the sixth event of the MotoGP 2021 season in excellent weather conditions.

In the Moto3 category, the Italian rider Dennis Foggia (Leopard Racing) achieved the second world championship victory of his sporting career on home soil in a race in which he was dominant throughout due to the excellent tuning of his bike and his superb handling. Foggia fought to the front of a large group of 15 riders and in the end won ahead of Jaume Masià and Gabriel Rodrigo (Gresini Racing), who returned to the podium for the first time since the Catalonia GP in 2018. Both Foggia and Rodrigo use GALFER Racing JCW1 brake discs, sintered brake pads and metal brake hoses.

The shocking news from the weekend was the tragic accident suffered by Jason Dupasquier (Purstel Racing) during the Q2 session of the Moto3 race. The rider sadly died in hospital later from the injuries he sustained. All of us at GALFER would like to send our deepest condolences to Dupasquier’s family, friends, team members and loved ones.

In the Moto2 category, Dutch rider Bo Bendsneyder (SAG Team) managed to finish in 15th place, while his teammate Thomas Lüthi decided not to race.

The next event of the World Speed Championship will be held at the Barcelona-Catalunya circuit from 4 to 6 June.
