The Spanish rider from the MT-Foundation77 team clinched his first win of the season in the FIM CEV Repsol 2020 in another heart-stopping finale with Xavi Artigas.
Pedro Acosta (MT-Foundation 77) started in pole position and had a good chance of victory in his second attempt at it. And he claimed it, by the skin of his teeth, with a mere 0.017-second lead on Xavi Artigas (Leopard Impala Junior), another GALFER rider. After the incredibly close final in Estoril, this time Xavi Artigas’s Honda lost out to Pedro Acosta’s KTM. Both motorcycles were fitted with GALFER Racing Disc Wave® brake discs and brake hoses.
Also noteworthy were the strong performances by José Julián García (SIC58 Junior), Adrián Fernández (Laglisse) and Max Cook (British Talent Team) who finished in 5th, 6th and 7th place, respectively, in the second round of the FIM CEV Repsol 2020 which was held in Portimao (Portugal).
Pedro Acosta and Xavi Artigas now share the top spot in the Moto3 category thanks to their respective victories in the two races held so far.
In the ETC (European Talent Cup) category, there were fine performances from the young riders in the Estrella Galicia 0,0 Junior Team. Marco Morelli secured the 3rd spot on the podium, while Ángel Piqueras finished just behind his teammate.
And, in the Moto2 category, Taiga Hada (AGR), the only GALFER representative, also secured good results with 6th and 7th position in the two rounds on the Algarve circuit.
The next round of the FIM CEV Repsol will be contested at the Jerez-Ángel Nieto racing circuit in Andalusia (Spain) on 29-30 August 2020.
