FIM CEV REPSOL 2020 KICKS OFF WITH A TRIO OF GALFER MOTO3 RIDERS

Xavi Artigas claimed victory over Pedro Acosta by a mere 0.003 seconds, while Adrián Fernández took third place on the podium in the first round of the FIM CEV Repsol 2020 held in Estoril (Portugal).

Great emotion and a close race defined the opening round of the European Speed Championship that got underway in Portugal under strict safety and hygiene measures due to the Covid-19 crisis.

In the Moto3 category, equivalent to the Junior World Championship, the GALFER riders stole the show, with three of the company’s representatives snatching the top three positions.

After an extremely close race, victory finally went to Xavi Artigas (Leopard Impala Junior Team), who managed to overtake Pedro Acosta (MT Foundation 77) by taking advantage of his slipstream in the final stretch, putting a gap of just 0.003 seconds between them. The young rider Adrián Fernández (Laglisse) finished in third place with his Husqvarna Moto3 bike. So we had 3 riders with 3 different bikes (Honda, KTM, and Husqvarna), but all using brake products from GALFER’s Racing range.

In the ETC (European Talent Cup) category, Ángel Piqueras (Junior Team Estrella Galicia 0,0) put on a fine performance and claimed the second spot on the podium in the second race of the day.

In the Moto2 category, Japanese rider Taiga Hada, the only GALFER (AGR) representative, achieved an 8th and 6th position in the two races held.

The next round of the FIM CEV Repsol will be held in Portimao on 13 July 2020.
