TATSUKI SUZUKI CLAIMS VICTORY IN THE ANDALUCIA MOTO3 GP

The Japanese rider in the SIC58 team achieved a perfect weekend with his Honda HRC Moto3, fitted with GALFER brake products, in the third race of the 2020 World Speed Championship.

It was the second consecutive MotoGP World Championship event at the Jerez circuit and the first win for a GALFER rider in the 2020 season. Tatsuki Suzuki (SIC58) delivered an impeccable performance in the Moto3 category. Starting from pole, the young Japanese rider set a very fast pace, staying ahead of the lead group throughout the race, and earned a well-deserved victory that puts him in second place in the overall world championship standings, just 6 points behind the leader. Also noteworthy were the performances by riders in the Gresini Racing team (Gabriel Rodrigo in 5th and Jeremy Alcoba in 7th), and the Estrella Galicia 0,0 team (Sergio García in 8th and Ryusei Yamanaka in 9th). All achieved excellent results thanks to their Moto3 HRC Hondas and GALFER Disc Wave® Racing brake discs.

In the main MotoGP category, Italian rider Pecco Bagnaia was out of luck, having to pull out of the race due to engine failure with 6 laps to go whilst in an incredible second position. Pecco had started third on the grid and his pace was fast enough to have given him a good chance of securing the first podium of his MotoGP career, but the high temperatures and the hot track took their toll on his Ducati, which couldn’t hold out to the end. French rider Johann Zarco (Hublot Reale Avintia) secured a top ten finish, crossing the line in 9th position, while his teammate Tito Rabat finished in 11th.

In the Moto2 category, it wasn’t a great weekend for Australian rider Remy Gardner (SAG) and his Kalex, who couldn’t get further than 14th position in the race.

The next round of the MotoGP World Championship will be contested in Brno (Czech Republic) on 7-9 August 2020.
