The South African rider of the Evan Bros team took both victories in the Supersport 600 class in the opening round of the WSBK 2021 at Motorland Aragón.
It proved to be a fantastic weekend for Steven Odendaal and the Italian Evan Bros team, sponsored by GALFER. Two races under different weather conditions, with a dry track on Saturday and a wet track on Sunday, left no doubt that the team’s new rider has adapted perfectly to the bike that won the last two World Championships. In two close finishes, Steven Odendaal clinched a win after a spectacular overtake on the last lap with his Yamaha YZF-R6, equipped with GALFER brake components.
With this double victory, Odendaal now leads the Supersport 600 class with 29 points difference.
The next round in the World Superbike calendar will take place in Estoril (Portugal) from 28 to 30 May.
