DENNIS FOGGIA NARROWLY MISSES OUT ON VICTORY IN PORTUGAL

The Italian rider of the Leopard Racing team finished second in the Portuguese Moto3 Grand Prix, just 0.051 seconds away from victory.

The third round of the MotoGP season took place at Portimao (Portugal) where GALFER riders were on the podium again.

In the Moto3 class, it was a great weekend for Dennis Foggia (Leopard Racing), who qualified second on the starting grid on Saturday and almost clinched victory on Sunday. After leading for most of the race, Foggia was overtaken on the last lap by Pedro Acosta, revelation rider of the season, just missing out on a Moto3 win.

Spanish-born Argentinian rider Gabriel Rodrigo (Gresini Racing) also had a good race, crossing the line in a solid 5th position. His teammate Jeremy Alcoba, who qualified third on Saturday and came back from the pit-lane to 14th position due to a penalty, is also worthy of a mention.

Japanese rider Ryusei Yamanaka (Pruestel GP) achieved a top-ten finish with a respectable 10th position.

In the Moto2 class, it was a subdued weekend for the SAG team and its two riders. Swiss rider Thomas Lüthi couldn’t find his rhythm and finished 17th, while his teammate Bo Bendsneyder suffered a crash that prevented him from finishing the race.

The next round of the MotoGP World Championship will be held in Jerez (Spain) from 30 April to 2 May 2021.
