Hans Becking and José Dias took three stage wins and finished in third place on the final podium in the Elite Men’s category and Enrique Morcillo and José María Sánchez finished as the best Spanish pair in the history of the 2021 Cape Epic.
The Buff-Scott team achieved its best Cape Epic result ever. The Cape Epic is held in South Africa and, with seven long technical stages and lots of elevation gain, is considered the toughest XC Marathon race in the world.
The pair consisting of the Dutchman Hans Becking and the Portuguese rider José Dias won three of the seven stages and finished third on the final 2021 Cape Epic podium. The pair took the most stage victories in this edition and went from strength to strength during the race.
Meanwhile, the Spanish pair of Enrique Morcillo and José María Sánchez also put in a great performance: they finished fifth place in the general classification and in the Top Ten on each of the seven stages.
