It’s been a fantastic start to the international XCM season for Galfer Bike riders at the Andalucía Bike Race 2024, a top-tier UCI SHC category competition held in pairs.
After 6 days of intense competition under challenging weather conditions with cold and rain, Janina Wüst and Rosa Van Doorn (Buff-Megamo) secured the final victory with a 5-minute lead, claiming victory in 3 out of the 6 stages. In second place was Txell Figueras (Cannondale ISB), including a stage win, while her teammates Mónica Calderón and Tessa Kortekaas finished third overall in the Women’s Elite category.
In the Men’s Elite category, there was a great performance by the pair Hans Becking – Wout Alleman, from Buff-Megamo, who managed to secure 3 stage wins to finish as runners-up just 2 minutes behind the race leaders. Also noteworthy was the seventh place for the pair José Dias – Enrique Morcillo (Buff-Megamo), eighth place for Roberto Bou – Miguel Muñoz (Klimatiza Team), and ninth place for Sebastian Gesche – Luis Martinez (Klimatiza Team).
