Chile’s Florencia Espiñeira won the EWS-E 2022 Women’s Elite world title, while the Orbea Enduro Team was the best team of the year with Edgar Carballo, who finished third overall in the Men’s Elite category.
Fantastic end of season for Galfer Bike riders at the E-Bike Enduro World Series in Finale Ligure. In the last race, the brand representatives and their e-bikes did their absolute best to achieve impressive results.
In the Women’s Elite category, Florencia Espiñeira (Orbea Enduro Team) won the last event of the year by more than 20 seconds, thereby winning the first world title of her career. “Flo” used the Orbea Wild equipped with 203 mm “Disc Shark®” discs, together with the G1652 lilac pads, which are specific for e-bikes.
In the Men’s Elite category, two Galfer Bike representatives secured spots on the podium, with Portugal’s Tiago Ladeira (Miranda Factory Team) coming 2nd and Spain’s Edgar Carballo (Orbea Enduro Team) coming 3rd. With these results, the Orbea Enduro Team has claimed victory in the overall EWS-E championship, consolidating the Spanish brand as one of the world’s top cycling brands. It is worth remembering that Orbea and Galfer maintain a very close relationship, in racing and as supplier of OEM components for high-end models such as the Rallon, Occam, Rise and Gain.
Meanwhile, Marco Melandri, former professional motorbike racer and Galfer ambassador, finished 2nd in Finale Ligure and in the EWS 100 overall standings in the Men’s Master category.
Finally, in the traditional annual “Trophy of Nations” event, a race by national teams that closes the Enduro season, the French team won the Women’s Pro category with Melanie Pugin (BH Racing Enduro Team), while the French men’s team took second place on the Pro podium with two Galfer Bike riders, Alex Rudeau and Louis Jeandel, both with the Commencal Enduro Project.
