Martin Maes and Florencia Espiñeira have triumphed in the Electric Enduro World Cup in Leogang (Austria) with great superiority, riding their Orbea Wild bikes equipped with “Disc Shark®” and G1652 brake pads, demonstrating the efficiency and quality of Galfer Bike’s braking components.
A great performance by the Orbea Fox Enduro team members in the third round of the 2024 EDR World Cup. Belgian Martin Maes and Chilean Florencia Espiñeira achieved victories in the Elite male and female categories respectively, with a significant advantage over their rivals. Martin Maes, who competed in the EDR race on Friday and finished 11th, raced again on Saturday in E-EDR, achieving a clear victory with more than 1 minute lead and winning 7 out of 9 timed stages. On the other hand, Florencia Espiñeira also achieved a clear victory in the female E-EDR with a 51-second lead, setting the best time in 4 stages. Thus, Florencia gets her third victory of the season and remains the standout leader of the championship’s overall standings.
Additionally, it is worth highlighting the great result of Italian rider Mirco Vendemmia (WeRide Exept Factory Team) in the EDR category with a commendable 5th position, as well as Jordi Bagó’s (Pivot) victory in E-EDR Master, followed by Marco Melandri, all of whom are representatives of the Galfer Bike brake brand.
In the Downhill discipline, Austrian rider Andreas Kolb (Continental-Atherton) had a good performance, achieving the 6th position in the Elite male category. His teammate, British world champion Charlie Hatton, recorded the 18th best time in the final. In the Junior category, the current competition leader, Asa Vermette (Frameworks Racing), suffered a fall in the final that kept him off the podium, while Frenchman Mylann Falquet (Goodman Santacruz) finished 5th.
All Galfer riders rely on “Disc Shark®” brake discs in sizes 180mm, 203mm, and 223mm, as well as brake pads in Pro G1554T compound (dry conditions), Advanced G1851 (wet conditions), and E-bike G1652 (electric bikes).
The next round of the UCI MTB World Cup will take place in Val di Sole from June 14 to 16.
