GREAT SUCCESS OF THE FIRST GALFER PRESS DAY

On June 26 and 27, GALFER organized a two-day event for the specialized motorcycle press, who were invited to visit the factory in Granollers (Barcelona, Spain) and to attend a brake test with KTM test motorcycles.

During the factory visit on the first day, the journalists could witness the manufacturing process of brake pads with 2 different technologies (semi-metallic and sintered metal), as well as see the production by laser cutting of the Disc Wave® disc brakes patented by GALFER. They also attended a live braking test with a dynamometer, where the brake disc reached a maximum temperature of 680ºC. Finally, the guests had the chance to see the different quality processes that apply to the production of brake components and meet the engineers in charge of the R + D + i department, who showed them some of the new prototypes of brake discs that will soon reach the market.

On the second day, the journalists could enjoy a nice and intense motorcycle route through the Montseny range (around 150 km) in order to try out the GALFER brake products: the new sintered brake pads Sport Racing G1375R and the different versions of GALFER brake discs (Disc Wave®, KTM Wave Powerparts and round discs). All the test bikes were provided for free by KTM España. Among them there were two 1290 Adventure S, two Duke 790, one Super Duke GT and one 790 Adventure. The only drawback was the intense heat, with temperatures up to 42 ºC, very extreme conditions for the testing of brake products.

GALFER is the official supplier of brake discs for the KTM motorcycle brand. This test day could be celebrated thanks to their 15-year-long collaboration.
