GALFER RIDERS TAKE SEVERAL CONSECUTIVE PODIUMS IN WMX

The female riders demonstrated their skills on 21 May in Villars-sous-Écot (France), achieving 4 podiums over the two rounds of this Grand Prix with Kiara Fontanesi (MX Fontaracing) finishing in 2nd position and Spanish rider Daniela Guillén (GasGas Lastlap WMX) in 3rd.

We got some glimpses of the old Kiara last weekend as, little by little, she finds herself back at the front of races, achieving two podiums in this Grand Prix. The Italian rider, on her Gas Gas bike equipped with Galfer brake products, took the holeshot on Saturday and finished second in both races. Behind Kiara was the young Spanish rider Daniela Guillén, who finished the weekend just 20 points adrift of the leader of the overall classification, who held on to first position. In the second race Daniela came back from thirteenth position to finish third. Her battle with the strongest riders on the grid ended with two third place finishes. Finally, the great performance by Larissa Papenmeier deserves a mention, finishing an excellent fifth.

As for the boys, the riders of VRT KTM Factory Juniors competed in the MX2 category at their home Grand Prix, achieving a double top ten: 7th position for Marc-Antoine Rossi and 9th position for his teammate Ferruccio Zanchi.

Both riders used “Disc Wave®” RW fixed grooved discs on their KTM bikes, with Racing G1396R sintered brake pads at both the front and the rear.

The next round of the women’s WMX is not until 20 August in the Netherlands, while the next round of the MXGP will be in Ķegums (Latvia) from 3 to 4 June.
