GALFER CONTINUES TO GROW AND EXPAND ITS PRODUCTION IN 2020

GALFER, the Spanish manufacturer of brake parts for motorbikes and bicycles, has increased its sales in 2020 and will end the year with very positive results, despite the pandemic.

Industrias Galfer. S.A. will end the 2020 campaign with a 15% higher turnover compared to the previous year, despite having been forced to close its facilities in March due to the general lockdown in Spain. At the same time, GALFER has also had to expand its production activity in the same proportion as its increase in sales. This means that GALFER has had to hire several new employees, has extended work shifts and has acquired new machines in order to cover the increase in current and anticipated future demand.

In the Motorbike Division, we would like to highlight the extension of our collaboration with the KTM Group, where GALFER is once again supplying the brake discs for the entire new GAS GAS range, a make that was recently acquired by the group. GALFER is also closing other new deals with leading teams, which gives us good reason to believe that the trend will continue upwards in coming years.

The increase in the supply of its sintered brake pads for several OEM customers, and the increase in export sales of its replacement parts are also impressive, thanks in part to the recent distribution agreement reached with Parts Unlimited (for America).

In the Bicycle Division, in 2020 GALFER started to supply its “Disc Wave®” brake discs as standard on several bicycles for national and international manufacturers such as Orbea, Fantic, Berria and Mendiz. It has also increased production of brake pads, as, thanks to the boom that the bicycle sector is currently enjoying, sales figures for replacement brake parts have soared, and are now double the 2019 figures. As for exports, Galfer Bike has broken into new markets in Oceania and Asia, where before it had no direct presence.

In addition, on a sporting level, although the season has not yet ended, 2020 will also be a year to remember for GALFER for winning its second consecutive Supersport 600 World Championship with Andrea Locatelli and the new World Championship double of Toni Bou in X-Trial and TrialGP, among other achievements.

Without doubt and despite the pandemic, GALFER will close 2020 on a very positive note, both in terms of more sales and internationally in terms or brand awareness, consolidation and the confirmation of GALFER as synonymous with reliability, cutting-edge technology and high-quality products with premium performance.
