Tracey Hannah (Polygon UR) and Monika Hrastnik (Team Dorval AM) climbed up to the podium at the first round of the DH UCI World Cup.

Eighteen Galfer Bike representatives entered the start of the Mountain Bike World Cup at Maribor (Slovenia), under changing weather conditions. All 18 use Galfer Bike brake components: Disc Wave® (many sized ø223mm) and brake pads Pro G1554T and Advanced G1851.

In Elite women, Australian rider Tracey Hannah (Polygon UR) was fastest on Saturday and finished 3RD on Sunday. Slovenian rider Monika Hrastnik (Dorval AM) reached the podium in 5TH place (the podium of the UCI World Cup has 5 steps).

In Elite Men the Galfer Bike representatives started with problems caused by Saturday’s rain. In fact, many riders didn’t classify for Sunday, among them Dylan Levesque, Max Morgan, and Taylor Vernon. On Sunday’s final, the best Galfer Bike representative was Alex Fayolle (Polygon UR), who was 23rd. His team mate Mick Hannah was 31st, Baptiste Pierron (Dorval AM) was 35th; Benoit Coluanges (Dorval AM) was 43rd, and Antoine Pierron finished 48th.

The young French rider Emile Rilat (Dorval AM) was 7TH in Junior.

The next DH World Cup round will be held in Fort William (Scotland) on June, 1-2, 2019, but before that there’ll be two XCO races at Abstadt (Germany) and Nove Mesto (Czech Republic).
