Almost 50 GALFER BIKE representatives competed last weekend at the UCI MTB World Cup of Andorra, finishing with a podium in DH and four Top Ten in XCO for the brake components brand’s representatives.

As has become customary during previous seasons, the Vallnord ski resort held the double Downhill and Cross-Country round of the UCI MTB World Cup.

The DH finals were held in Saturday. The best performance was for Australian rider Tracey Hannah (Polygon UR), who climbed up to the third step of the podium in Elite Women after a great race. Swiss rider Carina Cappellari (Hiag Data-NS Bikes) made her best race this year and finished 7th.

In Elite Men, the GALFER BIKE had bad luck. Thomas Estaque (Commençal 100%) crashed while scoring the fifth best time. The best result was Alex Fayolle’s (Polygon UR), who finished 21st. More than 20 riders used the GALFER BIKE brake components under extremely hot conditions, with almost 30°C in a long and challenging circuit with more than 700m drop in 2 km.

The XCO races were held on Sunday at over 2000m high. Several GALFER BIKE representatives gave great performances, especially the Primaflor-Mondraker team. In Elite Men, Carlos Coloma and Ondrej Cink made a double Top Ten, with an 8th and 9th place, their best results of the season, while their team mate Dan McConnell finished 27th.

In Elite Women, Jitka Skarnitzlova was 23rd and Raiza Goulao was 30th after suffering some physical problems.
And in U-23 the GALFER BIKE representatives achieved two great fourth places: Vlad Dascalu (Brujulabike) was 4th in U-23 Men, and Rocío del Alba (PMRA Team) was 4th in U-23 Women.

The next UCI MTB World Championship round will be held at Mont Saint Anne (Canada) on August, 10-12.
